On Line Communications

I have been involved in the real estate industry in one way or another for many years, whether marketing for developers, my own commercial real estate projects or owning an office in the 1980's. After a long absence from sales I again became an active Realtor® in 2009 with the local ERA franchise, ERA Cape Real Estate.

In addition to the web site, www.momshouseonthecape.com, I created a variety of marketing tools to support both the site and my everyday sales efforts. My e-mail newsletter (click on the 'E-Mail Newsletter' link to view the Fall 2010 issue) is a quarterly publication to my mailing list. It features local market analysis and outlook, links to my real estate videos, blog, Facebook, etc., and a slide show of my day lilies in bloom.

My blogging on the influential real estate platform, Active Rain (click on the 'Blogging' link to visit) consists of my observations about events influencing the real estate industry, the local real estate market and the senior housing industry, particularly Cape Cod assisted living facilities.

One feature of my blog is the Cape Cod MLS Tour Video segments, which feature video, property descriptions, maps and other information about properties on the local MLS tours, including candid and anonymous broker comments. These features have enabled my posts to achieve very high Google rankings in a very crowded on-line marketplace. I have made 225 videos for postings since I began in the Spring of 2010.

Print Materials

Most of the printed material produced over the past few years are supporting web sites I have developed. Above you can see a range of products, including informational brochures, mailers and a personal real estate brochure. Each of these graphics link to a PDF file - click on the link, the PDF will open and you can see a high resolution version of the presentation. You may have to adjust the size of the display, depending on your screen size.

The Healing Colors presentation was produced as an 11x17", 20# bond, two sided color booklet, folded once. It presents both scientific evidence and folk traditions about the relationship of color to physical, mental and spiritual health. It is intended as a guide to color selection for interior painting and lighting.

The Renoview Architect Mailer was printed on both sides of an 8.5x11" 110# card stock, scored twice and folded to hold an interactive CD (see below). This package was inserted in a 6x9" mylar bubble pak envelope with a color address label attached. The package was intended to show architects how and affordable IP based system could save time and money on building projects.

Both the Interior Peace Zen Mind Painting and the personal ERA Real Estate brochures are traditional 8.5x11" trifold, printed on two sides of 20# business gloss.

Multimedia

The low cost and relative ease of producing multimedia presentations, plus the ubiquity of computers able to view them, means that a personalized package can be developed for projects smaller than ever before. In real estate, a listing presentation for a property worth more than $750,000 certainly merits its own CD and booklet.

These products show the range of the medium. The first is a traditional audio CD package for "With A Voice of Singing", done as a contribution to the church in which I grew up.

With considerable liberty in the design I chose a conservative approach, fitting with the church's older parishioners. The angel on the CD is my Photoshopped interpretation of a sculpture that sits in a niche in the vestibule of the Federated Church in Hyannis.

The multimedia package for Renoview JobCam System, "Are You Renovating A Second Home" contains an autoplay version of the Renoview web site, with an animated introduction set to music. If the customer is on-line, the CD connects to live Renoview IP cameras, otherwise static images on the CD are used. The CD and brochure are displayed in a POP stand up container placed in building supply, hardware and home improvement retail locations.

The final project, "Step Up To The Front Row" was a listing presentation for a $1.2 million property in West Dennis. The pre-tax commission would have been a minimum of $12,500. I did not get the listing - close relatives beat out superior technology every time.

The presentation consisted of a video with music and graphics, on-line property pricing analysis, links to over 200 sites where property would be listed and a six page color booklet printed on 20# business gloss. CD and booklet were packed in a shrink wrapped CD jewel case.
